Lionheart is a registered, non-profit youth sports organization founded with the mission of promoting the sport of youth wrestling in the Shoals and surrounding areas while instilling Christ-centered values in the lives of our athletes. Our program teaches the fundamentals of competitive wrestling to athletes, PreK through 8th grade, regardless of school affiliation, and provides them with opportunities to compete and represent the Shoals in the world’s oldest sport. More importantly, we strive to mentor and guide our athletes in faith, discipline, and integrity, equipping them with spiritual and moral foundations that will serve them both on and off the mat.

Wrestling is a unique sport where anyone can succeed with the right commitment, perseverance, and heart. It is a sport that does not discriminate against size, shape, or gender, and it challenges athletes to develop physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength. Our goal is to provide our youth with opportunities for growth in all these areas while fostering a deep sense of sportsmanship, humility, and reliance on God. Wrestling teaches invaluable life lessons, including the importance of work ethic, goal setting, overcoming obstacles, and handling both victories and defeats with grace. As Proverbs 27:17 states, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." We take this to heart, encouraging our athletes to build each other up in faith and competition.

At Lionheart Wrestling Club, our coaches and staff are volunteers. That is why we are asking companies like yours to help us subsidize the various costs associated with scholarships for need-based students, singlets and uniforms, equipment, wrestling camp trips, and/or tournament entry fees and overnight travel expenses. It costs the club roughly $300 to sponsor a child through the tournament season which makes it expensive and cost-prohibitive for many families in the Shoals, and we have never and will never turn a child away simply because a family can’t afford to participate.
